Karima Francis has established herself as one of the stand-out singers to have graced the Manchester music scene in recent years. Some breathtaking Manchester performances, including an impressive In The City date, caught the eye of many; and she was eventually signed to Kitchenware Records and performed live on Jools Holland. The Blackpool born singer has a magnificent voice and sings immensely personal songs that cut deep into the listener’s psyche. The way she injects passion and emotion into her vocal delivery is something to behold and this gig at Band on the Wall should offer her the perfect platform to display her obvious talents.

Indeed, one can also be extremely excited at the prospect of watching I Am Blackbird; a phenomenal band that currently possess the strongest set of songs on Manchester’s semi-professional music circuit. Their arrangements and ear for melody show great intelligence and taste, and they have all the ingredients needed to be a big success. Wonderful melodies, beautiful cello and funky bass playing – they are splendid.
