We Are Scientists – Nice Guys

written for High Voltage

‘Nice Guys’ is the second single from We Are Scientists’ new LP ‘Barbara’ and it should act as the vehicle for the band’s demise. It is dull, uninspiring and lyrically annoying, and in the eclectic music world that exists currently, this kind of tripe will surely not last five minutes.

The guitar tones are horrible, there is very little vocal melody and the singing is annoying. Oh, and there are hardly any words, with repetition seemingly at the heart of everything these morons do. Their audacity is their only notable attribute because how they expect anybody to pay for this rubbish is a complete mystery. They have taken on a new drummer, Andy Burrows (formerly of Razorlight), and one can only feel very sorry for the guy because he has landed himself a job in one of the most boring bands in the world. If individuality and creativeness is what makes music special for you, then my advice would be to stay well away from this song.
