Animal Collective to curate ATP Festival in Minehead, May 13th-15th 2011

Animal Collective released their most recent album, Merriweather Post Pavilion, to universal acclaim. Heralded as a modern-day masterpiece by almost every major music publication, the band are now seen as a leading light, with their genre defying sound and penchant for fascinating experimentation proving to be a truly exciting mix. With the band sure-footed and at the top of their game, they have now been invited to curate the next ATP Festival, held at the Butlins holiday camp in Minehead, England. Taking place from 13th-15th May 2011, the event looks set to be one of next year’s musical highlights.

ATP promoter Barry Hogan said: “I always wondered what kind of mixtape Animal Collective would put together, so we are really stoked that they are climbing into the curating hot seat at Butlins next May where they will headline and curate the festival that includes the likes of Lee Scratch Perry and Gang Gang Dance from an already eclectic mix of 40+ acts.”
